Moray’s Community Payback team is one of very few in Scotland actively supporting food growing.
This is practical climate action, rooted in place, and led by people contributing something meaningful to their community.
This isn’t just “paying back”.
Community Payback participants are learning how to grow food, care for land, and contribute positively to their community — skills that support climate action and build long‑term resilience.

This year’s conference brought together a diverse community of voices committed to climate action and collaboration in Moray. Science was front and centre throughout the event, grounding discussions in evidence while showcasing the power of local action. Sessions explored not only what is already being done but also the opportunities that remain — highlighting where we can go further, faster, and more equitably in Moray, in our response to the climate crisis.
